Premiere: Class Fire From All Cylinders on Debut Demo Tape

Ahead of their show this weekend in support of Philly noise-pop band Empath, Tucson punks Class have unveiled today their self-titled debut demo tape through Feel It Records, blending fierce, hook-laden power pop with an early punk propulsion.

Today, we have the pleasure of introducing you to the newly formed Tucson-based garage punk band Class who have released their self-titled debut demo tape through Feel It Records (Spread Joy, Sweeping Promises, Romero). Led by vocalist and guitarist Erik Meyer (Rik and The Pigs), bassist Jim Colby (Brown Sugar), vocalist and guitarist Andy Puig (The Resonars), and drummer Ryan Chavira (The Green Teas), the band stirs things up with their blistering mix of early punk propulsion with a gritty edge and touch of glam, really hitting the sweet spot for anyone who's a sucker for hyper-melodic power pop or snappy '70s-style rock 'n' roll.

The five-track debut was recorded by Ryan Petersavage (The Endless Obsession, Familiar Curses) at Single Outlet Studios in Tucson with mastering by Caufield Schnug (Sweeping Promises) at Melody Men Mastering. Opener "Steady Hands" is packed with heavy distortion and fierce intensity, while "Into the Night" twists with anthemic power pop energy with its stomping drums and chiming guitars that crunch with a bit of jangle. "Wrong Side of Town" and "Oh! The Nerve" shows off Meyer's familiar and unabashed vocal prowess and glam swagger over slick guitar leads and an adrenalized garage stomp. The closer "Pills on a Dish" is one of the more claustrophobic cuts on the tape with its whirlwind of spastic guitar blasts delivered with urgency.

According to a press release, the band will release a 45 RPM 12" that's due out next fall. Along with the debut tape, Class will also be playing a show on Saturday with noise rockers Empath and Droll. Click here to purchase tickets to the upcoming show.

Class is out now through Feel It Records.
